BADO are holding an Informal Orienteering 45 Minute Score Event on Monday 16th May 2022.
The event is around the streets of Oakley. The event format is simple to understand and suitable for people with no orienteering experience.
There will be 34 Control sites to locate in the 45 minute Score, based upon a simple concept concerning Lampposts, however I just want to know whether they are numbered "Odds or Evens??". Pen/pencil is required.
Starts are 1815 - 1845, however we can accommodate up to 1900hrs upon request. Manual timing will be used as activity is informal and of course free of charge.
Map is A4, 1:5000 OCAD Urban style, recently updated to include new housing. Paper not waterproof, but forecast looks good.
Event Assembly is stated as Barley Mow pub (RG23 7JZ), however nearby public parking is highly recommended at entrance area to Oakley Junior School to avoid congestion at limited pub parking area (avoiding space needed for Fish & Chip van). Refreshments afterwards can be obtained at the pub, fish & chip van and One Stop shop. This is very much a social event.The event centre is the Barley Mow pub in Oakley (19 Oakley Lane, Oakley, Basingstoke RG23 7JZ) with registration from 6:00pm to 6:30pm and starts between 6:15pm and 6:45pm.
