BADO are holding an Informal Orienteering 45 Minute Score Event on Monday 20th May 2019.
The event is around the streets of Oakley. The event format is simple to understand and suitable for people with no orienteering experience.
The event centre is the Barley Mow pub in Oakley (19 Oakley Lane, Oakley, Basingstoke RG23 7JZ) with registration from 6:00pm to 6:30pm and starts between 6:15pm and 6:45pm.
The organiser is Tony Ludford.
Non members are welcome as we are keen to use this simple format to introduce new people to BADO. Please bring as many people as you can – just tell Tony how many are coming.
Run, jog or walk to visit as many of the controls as you can in 45 minutes and score ten points per control visited. Around 8k for them all. Lose points for going over time.
Starts are from 6.15 to 6.45 and we are using EMIT timing to log your start and finish time. If you do not have an Emit block then please tell the organiser and we will provide one
So bring a pen and EMIT brick if you have one. Compass may be useful but not essential
The Barley Mow have said they would welcome us in for drinks after the event and there will be a mobile fish & chip shop outside where we can buy food and take it into the pub.
Please do come along if you possibly can and it would really help the planning to have some idea of numbers so if you could let Tony know if you can make it that would be great.
